Covid-19 is changing just about everything we do these days. One of the benefits is that we are spending more time at home. Here in St. Petersburg, that has made home inventory go about as low as I’ve ever seen it. It’s a fantastic time to sell but buyers are having to make compromises and the competition is fierce because there just isn’t that much to choose from.
In fact, Zillow research data shows buyers and sellers are more likely than ever to buy or sell a home entirely online. The data also shows homes are selling faster than in the last two years!
“The coronavirus is still with us. Do NOT let your guard down and be sure to follow all CDC guidelines and local emergency regulations,” said Barry Grooms, 2020 President of Florida Realtors.
Florida Realtors came out with new rules in an effort to protect the safety and health of property owners and residents.
The following rules are based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you are viewing a home you are asked to wear a protective face mask. You’ll need to sanitize your hands before entering the property. Be prepared to practice social distancing. This means you’ll need to keep 6 feet between yourself and others. It’s also a good idea to avoid gathering in groups. When you are viewing the property, be sure to avoid touching surfaces whenever possible.
This is as much for your safety as the homeowner’s or builders. When the showing is over you’ll want to discard any disposable gloves, masks or shoe coverings. Always follow the directions of the showing agent. There could be requests made by the current homeowner that need to be followed.
